On the 21st of October 2023, ars86care foundation held a double event at Taman Wisata Alam (TWA) Angke Kapuk, celebrating runners who have participated in the Run for School Charity as well as Donor Appreciation Day for donors who have been supporting ars86care foundation throughout the years. TWA Angke Kapuk is designed to be a natural tourism destination while preserving the function of mangrove as a life support system. It is home to many species of birds as well as plants. Our collaboration with them is to raise awareness about the importance of taking action against climate change to create a better world for our children.

Run for School is a 10K Virtual Event that benefits ars86care foundation’s beneficiaries in Central Java. The event was conducted throughout September and October 2023 and involved over 120 runners from all around Indonesia. The goal is to help with infrastructure provision for early childhood education in Dharma Wanita 1, Ketangirejo Village, Godong District, Grobogan Municipality. The school is in need for a renovation since the existing condition is no longer acceptable for daily use. Poor floor and roof condition, as well as a small and cramped classroom, force the urgency of a renovation to take place. Fundraising efforts are still being made for our goal to start construction in 2024. The finish line of the event is symbolized by a medallion ceremony and a short fun walk at TWA Angke Kapuk on the 21st October 2023. Runners were asked to wear their jersey as well as their E-Bib number and cross the small finish line before attending a small gathering with family and friends.

Since our establishment as a non-government organization in 2007, we have been heavily supported by many of our passionate, respectful, and lovely donors. Their involvement in the philanthropic world deserves proper recognition. On the same day, we invited them to be recognized for their hard work in helping provide quality early childhood education. Some of these donors have supported us since our first ever visit to a school village; some have continuously given their support by carrying our names, while others joined because we have the same mission. We created a small ceremony honouring their heroism in early childhood education.

Many of our friends also came to show support, including Koalisi PAUD HI who plat Mangrove as a commitment to Climate Action, Ikatan Alumni Arsitektur 86 UNPAR, Tanoto Foundation, Walhi, Arsitektur Hijau Universitas Parahyangan Bandung, and Yahintara. We wanted to extend our gratitude to each representative, volunteer, and collaborator for showing the biggest support, and especially to TWA Angke Kapuk for making such a wonderful and meaningful day happen, ending the day with a symbolic gesture of planting mangrove seed to solidify ars86care foundation as well as TWA Mangrove's commitment to making an impact on climate change action to create a sustainable living environment for children as our future leaders.
